Frequently Asked Questions

My work is focused on helping clients make meaningful, step-by-step progress—not just temporary relief. I look at patterns in the body that have developed over time and work to gently unwind them.

Many clients who commit to a series of sessions (typically spaced about a week apart when beginning) begin to notice gradual improvements in comfort, mobility, and overall body awareness. My approach is unique and may feel different from traditional massage techniques.

Traditional massage—such as Swedish or relaxation massage—is often focused on reducing stress and promoting relaxation.

My approach goes beyond that by working with deeper patterns in the body, with the goal of creating more lasting progress over time.

I work with a wide range of concerns, including aches, pain, and mobility issues. If something falls outside the scope of massage therapy, I may recommend working with another professional, such as a chiropractor or physical therapist.

A good starting point is three sessions scheduled about a week apart. This allows us to evaluate how your body responds and whether progress is being made.

Sessions are customized to your preferences. Some clients prefer quiet relaxation, while others enjoy conversation—either is perfectly fine.

We focus on the area of the most concern.

If you’re primarily looking for relaxation, a traditional massage may be the right choice—and that’s completely valid.

If you’re interested in a more progress-focused approach, this work may be a good fit. You’re always welcome to try a session and see how it feels for you.

You don’t need to decide ahead of time. Simply book, and we’ll discuss your goals during your visit and tailor the session to your needs.

This work can at times feel like deep tissue, but it’s often done in a more gentle and intentional way that gets deeper than deep tissue massage. The focus is on effectiveness and lasting results rather than intensity alone.

No referral is necessary. While many clients are referred by healthcare professionals, you’re welcome to book on your own. If desired, progress updates can also be shared with them.

Massage therapy is rarely covered by insurance, and I do not accept insurance at this time.
